The nose is the central focal point of the face, and if you are unhappy with the size or shape of your nose, it can affect your self-esteem. Rhinoplasty can reshape your nose to improve both aesthetics and function, empowering you to feel more confident and self-assured about your appearance.
Am I A Good Candidate?
It is Generally Ideal For
You may be a good candidate if you feel your nose is too narrow or too wide, the tip points too far up or down, it is crooked or has a bump, it has been altered due to injury, or you have breathing problems.
It is Not So Great For
You may not be a good candidate for rhinoplasty if you have unrealistic expectations regarding potential outcomes and achieving the “perfect” nose, your nose has not fully developed yet, or you want to get surgery to please someone other than yourself.
The Procedure Process Explained
Dr. Clemenza will work with you to develop a treatment plan to achieve a more desirable nose shape, taking into consideration your preferences and dislikes, as well as your overall facial structure. He will also decide whether to take an open approach or a closed approach to surgery and recommend an appropriate sedation option.
Open rhinoplasty involves making an incision just below the tip of the nose in the skin that separates the nostrils. This is common for more complex reshaping procedures that require greater access. Scars are well hidden and barely visible.
Closed rhinoplasty involves making incisions inside the nostrils and is generally used for less complex reshaping. There is no visible scarring.
Both procedures involve removing or repositioning bone and cartilage to improve symmetry, smooth bumps, adjust the angle of the tip, and enhance overall balance in relation to the rest of your facial features.
